Move your REAPER audio edit into Pro Tools

Prepare an editable audio handoff with your media and a clear report of what changes. Check the supported scope below; this does not recreate every REAPER feature or certify an identical mix.

Choose your REAPER project and its WAV audio. Conversion happens on this computer. The first run loads about 14 MB of software; project and media files are never uploaded.

Audio edit transfer: 48 kHz WAV, up to 8 mono output tracks (stereo uses two). Plugins, instruments and buses are not recreated. Review the full comparison below before starting.

0 audio files selected · 0.0 MiB. Limits: 10 MB project, 10 MB selected audio, 512 MiB output. REAPER limits: 10 MB guest and free, 50 MB with a single purchase or Pro, 500 MB with Studio.

For larger media, download the local Python converter. It uses the same writer and retains the eight-track/48-kHz limits.

REAPER → Pro Tools audio edit transfer

An editable audio handoff with explicit changes, not an identical REAPER mix. 48 kHz WAV audio; up to 8 mono output tracks. Stereo uses two tracks. REAPER browser limits: 10 MB project, 10 MB total selected media, 512 MiB output. Other project inputs: 4 MiB project and 128 MiB selected media.

Dedicated local browser worker. REAPER input also has a local Python converter. PTX is not supported by the text-only batch/MCP or Premiere panel engine.

Additional project inputs transfer one selected audio sequence through the shared RPP audio model. Video, titles, bins, plugins and mixer routing are not recreated. Fades and automation may change; both reader and PTX losses appear in the same report. Missing audio, unsupported retimes and channel layouts stop conversion.

Authored PRPROJ, DRP, FCPXML and SESX fixtures: native Pro Tools opening, saving, reopening and stereo render checks. All seven project readers also pass actual WASM conversion, exact original retention and merged-report tests. Native playback acceptance for the additional AAF, AVB and CapCut fixtures is pending. Source-app fidelity and individual session playback remain separate checks.

Declaration basisNative open/save/reopen and sample EDL tests
Finite WAV sections and loopsSelected 48 kHz WAV media, normal-speed forward regionsmappedForward source sections and whole-file/finite-region loops become repeated sample-range edits. An absent LOOP flag uses the native enabled default. Selected WAV duration and bounds are checked. Unified loop controls change; retimes, off-sample clocks, reverse/crossfaded sections and fades spanning repeats need consolidated audio. Native Pro Tools playback of these new cases remains unverified.
Declaration basisExact source-range and original-retention checks, including actual browser WASM execution

Declaration basisWAV sample tests and native renders
Stereo audioCentered stereo WAV tracksmappedSeparate hard-left/right mono tracks. Both channels retained; no linked stereo controls. Mixed layouts and non-default stereo balance/width stop conversion.
Declaration basisNative stereo render: separate 220/330 Hz channels, maximum error below 7e-9
Media and original projectSource project plus selected mediapreservedSession ZIP includes Audio Files, original project and intermediate RPP, prepared-media originals and conversion-report.json. Missing or ambiguous audio stops conversion.
Declaration basisSHA-256 media checks and relinking regressions
Gain and muteStatic item/track/master levels and mutesmappedFolded into editable clip gain/mute. Finite combined levels must encode above -144 dB through +36 dB; exact zero uses the separate native silence value. Unsupported levels stop conversion before output. Original mixer structure and solo are not recreated.
Declaration basisNative gain and silence renders
Static mono panLeft/right positionapproximatedNative mono pan in 1% steps; the native pan law remains, so the mix may differ.
Declaration basisNative authored pan references and L/R render verification
FadesREAPER fade shapes and lengthsapproximatedStandalone linear/equal-power fades up to 65535 samples. Other shapes are approximated; unsupported lengths are reported.
Declaration basisNative sample EDL and fade render tests
Volume automationTrack volume envelopeapproximatedLinear-amplitude track points at sample times, in 0.1 dB steps; absent VOLTYPE means amplitude scaling. Failed point writes, active fader scaling and nonunity trim/read profiles stop before publishing a session. Interpolation/tangents remain qualified, and new native playback acceptance is pending.
Declaration basisConstant and changing-envelope native renders; interpolation parity not certified
Take volume envelopesActive single-take volume with known REAPER scaling and shapesapproximatedEditable clip-owned Float32 dB points use the physical 48 kHz source clock, including trims and source repetitions. Bounded sampling retains known amplitude/fader curves; source handles remain in the original project. This record profile stops at 65,536 native nodes, including origin padding, and refuses unsupported contexts or insufficient precision before output. Native acceptance covers measured gain records and their stated PCM controls; individual outputs are not certified mix matches.
Declaration basisNative source-clock, save/reopen/render and 65,536/65,537-node boundary controls; independent REAPER API and bundled WASM checks
Markers and regionsNames, positions, regions and attributesmappedMarker names and sample positions retained; regions become boundaries and richer attributes are reported.

FAQ

What do I download?

A ZIP with a PTX session, its Audio Files folder, the original RPP and conversion-report.json. Extract it fully before opening Pro Tools.

What happens to plugins and instruments?

They are not translated or automatically rendered. If the sound depends on them, prepare an RPP with rendered WAV tracks in REAPER first. The report identifies unsupported chunks.

Does stereo remain stereo?

Both channels remain audible in their original left/right positions, as separate hard-panned mono tracks. Native linked stereo-track controls are not recreated.

What if media is missing?

Conversion stops. Select the matching media folder or prepare a consolidated project. Ambiguous names and unsupported audio items do not produce a partial download.
